Honey Pecan Cheese Ball Ingredients
We only need 6 ingredients to make this recipe for mini cheese balls:
- goat cheese
- cream cheese
- Brown sugar
- chopped pecans
These cheese balls are perfect as they are and my favorite recipe version, but I know that many of you will ask for the exchange of cheese and pecans.
So yes, you can use any cream cheese if you do not like goat cheese. And yes, you can also use any goat cheese if you prefer.
However, when combined with goat cheese and cream cheese, goat cheese is by far the predominant flavor.
The cream cheese helps with the overall structure of the mini cheese ball and saves you from buying lots of goat cheese.
For the pecans you can also use nuts that you prefer. Good substitutions would be chopped walnuts or pistachios.
How to make this mini goat cheese ball recipe
As with any cheese ball recipe, mix the filling ingredients together and then roll each cheese ball into nuts.
However, with these mini cheese truffles, you only do it about 18 times, but I promise it will be quick!
The process is super fast with a medium sized cookie bucket. Take a scoop of the stuffing, roll it into the pecans and you're done!
Then sprinkle with honey just before serving.

Yes! These mini cheese balls are perfect as a starter for the holidays.
You can make-up them a few days before your party and they taste as good as the day you made them.
Just make sure you do not drizzle them with honey until you're ready to serve them.

And yes, you can even freeze it! Just make sure you let it thaw completely before serving.
