  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter
  • Shorten 1/2 cup
  • 3 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 5 1/3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/3 cups of sour cream
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 stick of unsalted butter softens
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • black food coloring
  • 10.8 oz. Mini M & Ms

Manual:

  • Butter, shortening, sugar, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract and 2 eggs in a large bowl. Add the flour, baking powder, sour cream and salt. The dough feels soft and sticky. Therefore, cool the dough directly in the bowl until it is firm.
  • Roll the dough onto a well-floured surface and cut into circles with a cookie cutter. Place the cutouts in a parchment pan and bake at 350 ° for 8-9 minutes.
  • While the biscuits are cooling, prepare the frosting by mixing 1 piece of unsalted butter with 3 cups powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract and 3 tbsp milk. Divide the icing into 2 small bowls. Stir the black food coloring into a bowl and leave the second bowl undyed.
  • Spoon the black frosting into a bag provided with a # 1 tip.
  • Use a round, flat knife to spread white icing on each cookie.
  • Pass the black icing along the outside and create loops and curves to emulate kinky Christmas lights. Finally, invite the kids to push mini M & Ms into the black frosting to create a complete string of lights.
